Townhead Pharmacy in Kilwinning are currently looking for a full-time experienced and enthusiastic dispensary assistant. Qualification as a dispensary technician is not essential as we would be willing to train up the right candidate to offer career progression but preference will be given to candidates with experience working in a community pharmacy environment.

Townhead Pharmacy is a busy, independently owned Pharmacy offering a number of additional services to complement its core dispensing business. The shop is run with two independent prescribing pharmacists and a close-knit team of counter assistants, dispensary assistants, technicians and checking technicians. The shop benefits from the latest technology in robotic dispensing and provides a fantastic environment to broaden experience and extend a career in community pharmacy. The Pharmacy is located opposite the railway station in Kilwinning which is within an easy half hour commute from Glasgow Central Station.

Responsibilities will include:

• Labelling and dispensing of prescriptions
• Ordering in stock for general inventory as well as specialist orders for specific needs
• Serving customers and offering advice under the supervision of the pharmacist
• Communication with GP surgeries and patients by phone and face to face
• Putting away orders
• Making up dosette trays as well as ordering prescriptions and stock as part of this process

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

• Minimum of two years working in a community pharmacy perhaps as a counter or dispensary assistant
• An outgoing personality who thrives on interactions between colleagues and customers
• Polite and respectful, taking account of confidentiality and individual needs of patients
• Excellent communication skills over the phone and in-person
• A desire to be an integral part of a busy and enthusiastic team
• An aspiration to deliver the best customer experience and a wllingness to go beyond expectations to achieve this
• A meticulous eye for detail and self-checking of work
